Well, the holidays are upon us! As well as Christmas shopping, Christmas parties, Basketball games galore-need I say more?? We are well into the school year & ready for a much needed holiday break. Our redbird girls are playing for 1st in the HDC Conference on 12/19/09. They will go up against a long-time tough-to-beat-Mercer. Wish them luck! Emily will turn sweet 16 in another week & is anxious/nervous to take her driving test. Josie has taken up playing the flute for 5th grade band & has ended up enjoying it after getting off to a rocky start. Mike still works at CACU & I still watch the kiddos with Tanya. It is so hard to believe we are almost to 2010. May we all be happy & healthy in the upcoming year!

Time Flies!!
Wow, I haven't written on this thing in so long, I couldn't even find the website. Our 2009 Summer is passing smoothly. Josie participated in softball this summer for the first time EVER, and did pretty well. Emily played her usual round of basketball games at Bethany. We are going to Creston IA this weekend for a little tournament, it should be a pretty fun outing. Perhaps I can muster enough energy up to snap some pictures. Emily is to get her braces off this Wed. & is very excited about it. We have found her a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix to drive, & I must say, I enjoy driving it myself! Other than this, we have been swimming & puttering around the house trying to tie up loose ends; landscaping, painting, etc. Oh, the joys of being homeowners!

What the ??
Boy, you just have to mention Spring under you breath & mother nature decides to dump several inches of snow on you! Saturday (3/28) was a yucky, wet day. But Sunday was rather beautiful with the snow sticking to all the trees, fences. etc. I guess snow decided to give us a strong fare-the-well. Today the temp is back up to 60's & it was like the snow was never here. Josie played in a quick little tournament at Eagleville on Friday night-they took 3rd out of 4 teams. Emily had a flute solo at St Joseph Saturday. She got a III, and said she was incredibly nervous. I told her I was that way at that age, don't even remember doing a solo because of it!
I don't want to say this too loudly, but this looks to be a low-key week with not much going on-yeah!!

THE DOG STAYS!!

Spring is almost here!
We can feel it in the air & it can't get here soon enough! Emily has finished up her 1st Varsity basketball season. They did well overall, they took the HDC title & placed 2nd in Districts. She has now started track and so far, she "loves it."
Josie is cruising her way thru 4th grade as only Josie can do. She played basketball for a few Saturdays at the Gallatin school. & now she is playing elementary ball. She seems to really enjoy it.
This week, Mike has started working 4-10 hour days & needless, to say, this is a period of adjustment (for everyone!!) As Mike & I get older, we realize how important sleep really is!!
A situation has occurred this week that has our family in a mild uproar. Mike' s mom brought a very cute & cuddly puppy by the daycare to see if we wanted it. It just so happened that school was out early that day; Josie was there; direct eye contact was made with the dog; & that's really all there is to say. Jeannie had gotten the puppy for her aunt (her dog had recently died) but it was not working out. She is the most adorable thing and Piper (our chihuahua) has really taken up with her. Mike has other feelings about this. As of now, she is going back to Jeannie this weekend. I think it will all work out fine, it's just convincing everyone (Josie & Emily) of this.

We are going to Uncle Marvin & Aunt Sharon's house this weekend for a family get-together. Have not seen Julie, Brad for quite some time, and have never seen the kiddos yet!
This is all the updating for now. I plan to pray for Spring, so i can complain about mowing the yard!
